Linux Mint is a nice replacement for Ubuntu. Just compare the usability of their desktops Unity and Cinnamon. The Linux Mint 14 VMware image comes with VMware Tools already installed. We also have the newest Ubuntu image and other main distros as VMware appliances. In order to run these images, you will need at least the free VMware Player software.
