Description This is a fast and user-friendly desktop-oriented operating system, deliberately based on LXDE. Our goal is to provide a set of dedicated utilities and specific optimizations, combined with a focus on providing easy and lightweight access to a productive system. This makes our OS ideal for people who want a working environment tailored to individual needs and preferences. From this perspective, DebLight OS is suitable for both newcomers and experienced computer users, and even for organizations that prefer to update their computer equipment rather than replace everything too often.
Why do we choose LXDE? LXQT is the fusion of GTK-based LXDE (kept up to date) and Razor QT. Just like Mint, we like working on GTK for the development of DebLight and in addition LXDE is much more efficient in terms of speed and resources than LXQT. Otherwise, we might as well be on XFCE. DebLight being built on the Debian base, not wanting to wait for the release of LMDE7, the classic and studio versions have already seen the light of day in amd64 in v 2.13.1. Debian does not recommend the transition to v 13 for 32-bit processors. This is why you will soon discover the classic and studio versions in v 2.12.1. Debian is resuming LXDE support after having partially deleted it. Raspberry has always continued with the LXDE desktop, which gives us reason to have continued to use it.
Why did you break away from LMDE?
1. DebLight OS was never an LMDE, but it was similar to Mint tools in v 1.12.x.
2. Imagine the delay in months to release a new version of DebLight after the release of the last Debian, if we still have to wait for the new LMDE release.
3. DebLight aims to be simple and elegant, easy to use, fast and lightweight, and therefore use as little RAM as possible to run. The detachment of LMDE further contributes to achieving this.
Then... Why throw it away because a company arranges for PCs to be more and more powerful in order to release a new version that cannot be installed on this hardware designated as obsolete? If this is not the case, then why not maintain at least Seven?
This is why DebLight OS is ideal for replacing systems that have become obsolete such as Windows XP, 2000/NT, Vista, Seven (7), Eight (cool1.gif, etc.
This makes DebLight an eco-responsible system.
