CachyOS is a distribution based on Arch Linux, that offers an easy installation, several customization options to suit every user, and special optimizations for improved performance while remaining simple.
The default Linux kernel is linux cachyos which is heavily optimized and is using the BORE Scheduler.
Optimized Packages All desktop packages are compiled with LTO and x86-64-v3 optimization, security flags and performance improvements.
Desktop Environment We are providing KDE, GNOME, XFCE, i3, bspwm, LXQT, Openbox, Wayfire and Cutefish. These can be selected at the online installation.
Installer to suit your needs We provide two versions of Installer. One GUI Version, which is based on Calamares and a CLI-Installer for the people who dont need a GUI as installer.
Kernel Support linux-cachyos is using the BORE Scheduler and has a lot of performance improvements. We also provide other schedulers: CFS, PDS, BMQ, BORE, TT, cacULE. All kernels are compiled with x86-64-v3 instructions and also available with LTO.
A Better Browser The default browser of CachyOS is Cachy-Browser, which is a fork of the Firefox Browser with some security additions and also compiled with more secure flags and performance improvement. It has also patches from the librewolf browser included.
