ChaletOS is a beginner-friendly Linux distribution based on Xubuntu and featuring the Xfce desktop. It provides a simple and intuitive desktop interface, modest hardware requirements and five years of security support. The name ChaletOS is derived from Swiss mountain houses whose concepts of simplicity, beauty and recognisability inspired the creation and design of ChaletOS.

As addition to our current release we made special edition named 'just for fun'. It comes only in 32 bit version. This one is partially based on XFCE but its window manager is 'kwin'. That brings great effects on ChaletOS that some of us need. For now we want to see people's opinion about it, that is why it is just for 32 bit machines. If this release will be accepted OK it will be in our normal releases together with classic one that comes. We hope that you will enjoy in ChaletOS.
