Emmabuntüs DE 6 is a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian 13 XFCE/LXQt. It strives to be beginner-friendly and reasonably light on resources so that it can be used on older computers. It also includes many modern features, such as large number of pre-configured programs for everyday use, dockbar for launching applications, easy installation of non-free software and media codecs, and quick setup through automated scripts. The distribution supports English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Danish and Spanish languages.

The Emmabuntüs Collective is pleased to announce the release, on March 20, 2026, of the update to Emmabuntüs Debian Edition 6 1.01 64-bit, based on Debian 13.4 "Trixie" and featuring the Xfce/LXQt desktop environments.

This new evolution of our distribution now comes in two versions: a Core version, which includes the essential components of Emmabuntüs for personal use, and the previous version, which is now renamed Full version.

Corrections and Improvements in version 1.01
System Base and General Features :
 - Based on Debian 13.4
 - Creation of two Emmabuntüs versions: a lighter Core version and a Full version (formerly the one and only version available): 10
 - Added a dedicated interface in the Core version allowing on-demand installation of software packages embedded the Full edition
 - Fix related to the use of proprietary firmware in the ISO
 - FileZilla reintegration
 - Added a GRUB menu entry for ISO integrity verification in live mode
 - Added the ability to place the dashboard bar at the bottom of the screen via the post-configuration menu

 - Switched from Zenity to YAD for handling dialog boxes and information windows

Accessibility Improvements and Enhancements :

 - Fixed the error in the script that determines the language of the text-to-speech synthesis
 - Fix for espeakup usage in TTY console
 - Updated components: Orca 49.5
