Here is the Lubuntu 12.10 VMware appliance (http://www.traffictool.net/vmware/lubuntu1210t.html). Lubuntu is a direct descendant of Ubuntu and enjoys the same repositories and support as the main edition. Compared with the Ubuntu 12.10 image, which we also have, this one is lightning fast.
