Emmabuntüs DE 5 is a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian 12 XFCE/LXQt. It strives to be beginner-friendly and reasonably light on resources so that it can be used on older computers. It also includes many modern features, such as large number of pre-configured programs for everyday use, dockbar for launching applications, easy installation of non-free software and media codecs, and quick setup through automated scripts. The distribution supports English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Danish and Spanish languages.

The Emmabuntüs Collective is pleased to announce the release on 26 January 2026 of an update to its distribution: Emmabuntüs Debian Edition 5 1.05 (32 and 64 bits) based on Debian 12.13 Bookworm and the XFCE and LXQt desktop environments.
