ROSA Fresh is a modern domestic Linux operating system created by the community and legally available to everyone completely free of charge and without registration.
ROSA Fresh Desktop 12 is a new generation of ROSA operating systems based on the 2021.1 platform.
For ROSA Fresh Desktop 12, an image with the KDE5 desktop environment (Plasma) is available. A minimalistic server distribution is also available. The rest of the options will be posted as the community prepares them.
General features of the R12 release:
- A redesigned design (based on breeze, with an original set of icons) that meets modern trends, but nevertheless retains its recognizability, colors and usability.
- Full transition RPM5 → RPM4 has been implemented, compatibility with the line of RHEL-compatible OS has been improved.
- New Anaconda- based installer that supports graphical and text-based installation, kickstart installation.
- Loader with localized interface support.
The Linux 5.10.x kernel is used as a base.
- 2.33 Glibc ( mode backward compatibility with Linux kernels to 4.14.x), GCC 11.2, systemd 249+
- Updated login manager based on GDM.
- Support for easy and fast organization of a closed software environment "out of the box", which allows you to prohibit the execution of untrusted code (while the administrator himself determines what he considers trusted, does not impose trust in third-party software), which is important for building highly secure desktop, server and cloud environments.
