Here we have the Lubuntu 12.04 based VMware image Trend System LX (http://www.trendsigma.com/system/lx/). Technically this is a streamlined base image with packages installed for running Windows, Linux and Java apps on all main OSes via the VMware virtualization. We chose Lubuntu over Ubuntu because of its fine classic and ergonomic desktop. Of the offical Lubuntu distro all applications got stripped, so that this is a base image for building something more specific. For instance, we developed it further into a trading system appliance. More documentation like how to use the also installed VMware Tools is available on the Trend Sigma (http://www.trendsigma.com/) site. At least wou will need virtualization software from VMware for running this Lubuntu image. However, the free VMware Player will do fine.
