Emmabuntüs DE 4 is a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian 11 XFCE/LXQt. It strives to be beginner-friendly and reasonably light on resources so that it can be used on older computers. It also includes many modern features, such as large number of pre-configured programs for everyday use, dockbar for launching applications, easy installation of non-free software and media codecs, and quick setup through automated scripts. The distribution supports English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish languages.

On April 27th 2020, the Emmabuntüs Collective is happy to announce the release of the new Emmabuntüs Debian Edition 4 Alpha1 (32 and 64 bits), based on Debian 11 Bullseye Alpha2 distribution and featuring the XFCE/LXQt desktop environment.
This Debian Edition Alpha1 version includes the following fixes and enhancements :
- Based on Debian 11 Alpha 2
- Replaced LXDE by the LXQt desktop environment
- Added Falkon Internet browser for use under LXQt
- Added Smtube
- Added inxi, inxi-gui and mdadm software tools
