Compiz enabled out of the box and comes with all the latest and greatest Apps.
On live DVD and on first log in after install you MUST CHOOSE the GNOME Classic desktop............. DO NOT leave as Default

updates are done via synaptic package manager so as to keep locks on certain packages
If you use terminal or update manager these locks will be undone
