The Collectif Emmabuntus has announced the release of the latest update to Emmabuntus, a Xubuntu-based distribution made specifically for refurbished computers destined for humanitarian organisations: "On June 22th, 2014, the Emmabuntus Team is pleased to announce the 7th maintenance release of Emmabuntus 2 1.08 based on based on Xubuntu 12.04.4. This distribution was designed to make the refurbishing of computers given to humanitarian organizations, especially Emmaus communities (where the name comes from), and to promote the discovery of Linux by beginners, but also to extend the lifespan of the equipment and to reduce over consumption and over waste in electronics. This update is delivered to improve the work of reconditioning Emmaus using Emmabuntus, and support us as Emmaus Paris, Montpellier and Annemasse.
