InstantOS is a manjaro based distro that works out of the box but is still aimed at power users. Everything is lightning fast and works out of the box.
INSTANTOS HAS THREE KEY PRINCIPLES Just works Everything is set up straight out of the box, from wifi to brightness controls, media keys and wallpapers. You can install it, learn the keybindings and forget about it. I also looks pretty despite being fast. It is possible. You can have both.
Power-user friendly There are loads of keybindings and powerful features. You can do almost everything with a keyboard or mouse. Things are done in a way that is fast and efficient, not easy to guess. There are no trade offs made. For instance there is no indicator for changing volume. You have to know that you can scroll your mouse wheel over your status bar to change volume. No screen space wasted and you don't have to click on anything first to change volume. Of course mouse and media keys and keyboard shortcuts are supported. That same philosophy is kept throughout the entire os.
Speed instantOS sits at 130mb RAM at idle. It comes with as little bloat as possible without sacrificing features. Window manager and menus are written in pure c. Things should happen before you even let go of the key. The window manager never takes a single percent of cpu or even a single megabyte of RAM, letting you and your computer focus on what matters.
SUPPORT Until the user base outgrows this, any questions will be answered immediately by the devs. You can open issues on Github, ask for help on the Discord server, on the Subreddit or write an email to firstname.lastname@example.org

INSTANTOS IS STILL IN EARLY BETA, CONTRIBUTIONS ALWAYS WELCOME
ABOUT instantOS is based on Manjaro, but with a way smaller footprint. The ISO fits on a 2gb USB stick and RAM usage on idle is ~140MB. It uses a custom window manager with a bunch of facilitating custom software to provide an experience similar to a desktop environment but as powerful and fast as a window manager. In fact, all pieces being made for each other allows things that wouldn’t be possible by just editing dotfiles.
SUCKLESS instantOS is not a suckless distro. instantWM, intantLOCK and instantMENU started out as suckless forks, but contain over 40% original code and go into different directions. For instance, programs that are under 40kb should not put storage at such a high priority. Stability, features and speed are more important. You could install all instantOS packages and still need less storage than if you installed a single kde package.
