Absolute is a x86 Linux distribution based upon Slackware. It concentrates on ''desktop'' use so that it is ready for internet, multimedia, document and general home use out of the box. Absolute is lightweight -- meaning 2 things: that it can run on on older hardware and that the OS interface stays out of your way.

Kernel headers version corrected. ''Getting Started'' document updated, including how-to for Nvidia proprietary drivers installation. Also includes several additional multimedia libraries with better support of WebM. Ffmpeg ''free'' version included in distribution as default -- version that includes non-free codecs and such is still available for those who feel eligible via the improved/updated multimedia installer. (Run this as root user -- see ''getting started'' for details.)
